ITE Tech. Inc., with high market share of PC I/O controller chip, launches the I/O product IT8720, which contains the digital temperature as well as sequenced voltage control developed based on its original I/O technique. In addition to the original I/O function, it also supports the advanced smart linear fan control, hardware monitor, noise control, infrared transmit interface, and floppy control. Moreover, it further supports both AMD and Intel processor’s latest temperature sensor interface (PECI 1.1、AMDTSI) and AMD’s new type of sequenced voltage control interface (SVI).

Seeing that the power and energy control are getting important following the rapid development of the personal computer, ITE develops a brand-new I/O controller IT 8720, which supports both AMD and Intel’s new type of temperature sensor interface (PECI 1.1、AMDTSI) and enhances its precision, enabling better fan and noise control. In addition, IT 8720 integrates AMD’s new type of sequenced voltage control interface (SVI) and provides the best solution for AMD and Intel platform. It has been not only successfully verified from Intel’s demo board in Asia but also adopted by the main motherboard and system corporations after the verification and trial production. Currently ITE has got the mass production order from the customer, which is scheduled to be shipped by the end of December. Following AMD and Intel’s TTM schedule of their new type processors, IT8720 will become a hot product in the PC I/O market starting from the first half of 2008.
