ITE Tech. Inc., leading in the notebook KBC market, launches IT8513 series chip, a solution for MID and UMPC. IT8513 series supports various COM port and SPI port functions and has been adopted by many famous Notebook and mobile suppliers.

Both of MID (Mobile Internet Device) and UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) are the new generation of PC products largely promoted by Intel. Most models of these two products have a property in common, which is the demand for COM Port. IT8513, adding both COM port and SPI port functions to ITE’s existing Notebook KBC product, provides the GPS, Bluetooth and Touch Panel with high-speed and power-saving interface. In addition to increasing the battery duration, it is able to reduce the cost valued one Super I/O. Besides, IT8513 can be widely applied in many aspects such as GPS and Smartphone-related products.

The CIR function in ITE’s Notebook KBC chip is an essential and key component for Ditigal Home Center. It provides PC users to easily control their home appliances such as TV, Audio, Set-top Box and so on only by a remote control along with the UMPC, MID or Notebook. Starting from 2002, this function has been built-in ITE’s Super I/O including IT8712、IT8716、IT8726 and IT8718, etc. In 2007, ITE also released several KBC chips containing CIR function, such as IT8512、IT8752 and IT8516 in the Notebook market, which have already been verified and purchased by many companies. After Microsoft announces that CIR function will be added in its new generation of Windows Vista, ITE shortly develops the CIR 32-bit and 64-bit driver and chip and quickly passes the Microsoft certification. For the design capability and professional vision, it again approves that ITE Tech Inc. is a leading corporation in the PC market.
