The IT6653 is a high-performance single-chip HDMI to DisplayPort converter. Combined with HDMI receiver and DisplayPort transmitter, the IT6653 supports HDMI input and DisplayPort output by conversion function.
The built-in HDMI receiver is an HDMI 2.0b receiver which supports 6.0 Gbps/channel capability and up to 18 Gb/s bandwidth. It is fully compatible with HDMI 1.4b/HDMI 2.0b, HDCP 1.4/HDCP 2.3 and also backward compatible to DVI 1.0 specifications. The receiver with its Deep Color capability (up to 36-bit) ensures robust reception of high-quality uncompressed video content, along with state-of-the-art uncompressed and compressed digital audio content such as DTS-HD and Dolby True HD.
Aside from the various video output formats supported, the IT6653 also receives and provides up to 8 channels of I2S digital audio outputs, with sampling rate of up to 192 kHz and sampling size of up to 24 bits, facilitating direct connection to industry-standard low-cost audio DACs. Also, an S/PDIF output is provided to support up to compressed audio of 192 kHz frame rate. Super Audio Compact Disc (SACD) is supported at up to 8 channels and 88.2 kHz through DSD (Direct Stream Digital ports) ports.
The High-Bit Rate (HBR) audio is also provided by the IT6653 in two interfaces: with the four I2S output ports or the S/PDIF output port. With both interfaces, the highest possible HBR frame rate is supported at up to 768 kHz.
The built-in DisplayPort transmitter is a high-performance DisplayPort 1.2a transmitter, fully compliant with DisplayPort 1.2a and HDCP 1.3 /2.3 specifications. The IT6653 supports color depth of up to 36 bits (12 bits/color) and ensures robust transmission of high-quality uncompressed video and audio content.
Aside from the various video output formats supported, the IT6653 also encodes and transmits up to 8 channels of I2S digital audio, with sampling rate of up to 192 kHz and sampling size of up to 24 bits. In addition, an S/PDIF input port takes in compressed audio of up to 768 kHz frame rate.
With embedded MCU and Flash, IT6653 is easy to program through the ISP interface by HDMI DDC channel. Customers need no external Flash and MCU, and can save the BOM cost and board size.
Each IT6653 comes preprogrammed with unique HDCP keys, in compliance with the HDCP standard so as to provide secure transmission of high-definition content. Users of the IT6653 need not purchase any HDCP keys or ROMs.
