IT66631: HDMI 2.0-to-HDMI 2.0/TTL Dual Output Converter
The IT66631 is a one-to-two, HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0/TTL converter that supports a signaling rate of up to 6.0 Gbps per channel on the HDMI interface. It is compatible with the latest HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.3 specifications. The 18.0 Gbps bandwidth capability of IT66631 allows it to support content stream such as the popular ultra-high definition 4K x 2K 60 Hz format, 3D video with 4K x 2K@30 Hz, and so on. SCDC data structure is contained in both HDMI RX and HDMI TX side of IT66631 such that HDMI 2.0 content could be properly received and transmitted to downstream side. The 48-bit TTL outputs of IT66631 make solutions with HDMI interface and TTL-in video processors possible.
To facilitate system design, IT66631 integrates on-chip CSC conversion (including YCbCr 420/422/444 up or down and RGB/YCbCr conversion) and 4:1 down-sampling function, and thereby proper video stream could be output to HDMITX and TTL. The 4:1 down-sampling function is especially useful for those applications that include a video path merely capable of displaying 1080p or lower resolutions.
The installed HDCP2.x engines and keys on both HDMI RX/TX make IT66631 possible to act as an HDCP2.x/1.x Repeater or an HDCP2.x/1.x to 1.x/legacy converter, eliminating HDCP compatibility issue. Note that the HDCP2.x/1.x to 1.x/legacy conversion usage is restricted for closed system applications only.
The IT66631 equalizes incoming TMDS signal to optimal and outputs retimed data to downstream HDMI sinks. The highly acclaimed equalization technology of ITE TECH. INC. provides support of long or low-quality HDMI cables at even the highest speeds. Input terminations of the TMDS inputs and output current levels are both programmable.
An EDID RAM is embedded in the IT66631 to save the cost of the external EDID ROMs. The process of downloading the EDID data into the RAM is simplified by firmware programming.
The IT66631 operates in the software mode, allowing the system to control it via a two-line serial interface, PCSCL/PCSDA. Two serial programming addresses can be selected by PCADR.
