IT6520: USB-C (DP Alt Mode) & Power Delivery Controller Built-in 4 Lane DP 1.4 to MIPI Converter

The IT6520FN is a highly integrated USB type-C/PD controller with DisplayPort to MIPI converter. It is suitable for dongle application.


The IT6520FN has integrated type-C DFP/UFP/DRP resistors and controls logic with dead battery support. For the USB PD application, IT6520FN supports PD 2.0 completely, and PD 3.0 with the chunk mode completely. The built-in DisplayPort receiver is fully compatible with DisplayPort 1.4a and HDCP 1.3/2.3 specifications. With 4-Lane HBR3 (High-Bit-Rate 3) configuration.


The built-in MIPI transmitter is a high-performance 2-port MIPI transmitter, fully compliant with MIPI C-PHY V1.2/D-PHY V1.3 specifications and MIPI CSI-2 V1.3/DSI-2 V1.0 specification. This MIPI transmitter can support 30/24/16 bits RGB in DSI mode and 888/666/565/555/444 RGB, 10b/8b YUV422, YUV420_8b (legacy) format in CSI spec, and support CSI proprietary modes include YUV420_10b/YUV420_12b (legacy), YUV422 12b, 8b/10b/12b YUV444, 10b/12b RGB format.


Aside from the various video output formats supported, the IT6520FN also supports 8 channels digital audio, with sampling rate up to 192 kHz and sample size up to 24 bits, and HBR audio.


With embedded MCU and Flash, IT6520FN is easy to be programmed. Customers need no external Flash and MCU, which can save the BOM cost and board size.


Each IT6520FN comes preprogrammed with a unique HDCP key, in compliance with 1.3/2.3–Amendment for DisplayPort, so as to provide secure transmission of high-definition content. Users of the IT6520FN need not purchase any HDCP keys or ROMs.
